From the Happiness Project

I just ran across an archive of a blog I followed earlier this year called the Happiness Project. The author, Gretchen Rubin, is not posting anymore, but has written a book using posts from the blog. Anyhoo, the post I read tonight was titled Act the Way You Want to Feel. That's what I should have done today, and what I will strive to do tomorrow.

  1. Or as I am wont to say...fake it until you make it. This has actually worked quite a few times for me when nothing else would!!

  2. lol! checking fellow blog classmates blogs this morning and i'm noticing a theme...interesting! lol! seems a few of us are dealing with different things that are trying our patience or reminding us that we need to be more patient - i LOVE the idea of "acting the way you want to feel" i definitely need to do that more often!
we've been having more sunny days here - i hope you are too!

  3. I love your picture! Just looking at that makes me happy! As I was reading your post, I was thinking about another post I read today about visualizing. The post was written by a classroom teacher who was having some discipline problems with one specific student. He had the student spend several minutes each day...at the beginning of class...just visualizing the way he REALLY wanted to act. The child improved his behavior with just this short act of visualizing. Perhaps each morning you could spend a few minutes visualizing that person you want to feel before acting the way you want to feel.

Last year I took this blogging class and over the months I have continued to post. It has become a hobby with me even though it is part of my job! I enjoy finding neat things to share and dropping in links and pictures. I've added several other blogs, gotten teachers to use blogs in the classroom and have added a few websites for students. It is great fun. I hope you enjoy blogging also! Keep up the great work!
